How Does Credential Verification Work?

ICONIC Board credential verification is live, public, and requires no account. Every credentialed practitioner receives a unique QR verification badge and a dedicated credential verification URL. Anyone can verify a credential in seconds — no registration, no fee, no middleman.

The Verification Methods

There are two primary ways to verify an ICONIC Board credential:

  1. QR badge scan — Scan the practitioner's QR badge with any smartphone camera. It opens the live verification page showing their name, credential tier, issue date, and current status.
  2. Online lookup — Visit /credential-verify and enter the practitioner's name or credential number to see their current standing.

Both methods check against ICONIC Board's live credential records — so the result reflects the credential's current status at the time of the check, not a static snapshot.

What Verification Shows

A successful verification displays:

If the credential is active and in good standing, the verification page shows a green "Active" status. If the practitioner's credential has lapsed or been suspended, the status reflects that — so there's no way for a practitioner to show a valid QR badge for a lapsed credential.

Why Live Verification Matters

Static certificates and PDFs can be forged or used past their expiration date. QR codes can be doctored to show false information. ICONIC Board's verification system is different: the QR badge links to a live page that queries ICONIC Board's records in real time. The source of truth is always ICONIC Board's database, not a static document in the practitioner's possession.

This architecture means that when a practitioner's credential lapses or is suspended, their QR badge immediately shows the changed status — no action required from the practitioner, and no way to continue showing a "valid" badge for an invalid credential.

For practitioners: Your QR badge is only as good as your credential status. Renewing on time keeps your badge showing "Active" — which is what clients and institutions want to see. Set up renewal reminders through your practitioner dashboard.

Employer and Institutional Verification

Organizations that want to verify the credentials of holistic health practitioners they work with can use the same public verification tools. The Employer Verification Portal provides a streamlined experience for HR departments and institutional partners who need to verify practitioner credentials in bulk or maintain ongoing compliance records.

If Verification Fails

If a credential cannot be verified, it may mean the practitioner's credential has lapsed, been suspended, or was never issued. If you believe there's an error, contact support@iconicboard.health with the practitioner's name and the credential designation they presented.
