Requirements vary by credential tier. IBC-HHA™ has no minimum years of practice — it is designed for practitioners who have completed training and are building their practice. Higher tiers require 2–5+ years of active practice. All tiers require agreement to the ICONIC Board Code of Ethics.

Can students apply for an ICONIC Board credential?

Currently enrolled students may apply for IBC-HHA™ if they are within the final stages of completing a recognized training program. Credentials are issued upon confirmation of program completion. Practitioners at earlier stages of their education should complete their training before applying.

Eligibility requirements vary by tier: IBC-HHA™ requires completion of a recognized training program; IBC-HHP™ requires 2+ years of active practice; IBC-HHE™ requires 5+ years with mentorship or teaching experience; IBC-HHD™ requires a doctoral degree and distinguished contributions to the field.

ICONIC Board credentials are open to holistic health practitioners across all modalities and training backgrounds. There's no single required school, certification, or professional association membership needed to apply. The question is whether your education, practice history, and professional conduct meet the requirements for the credential tier you're applying for.

The Core Eligibility Principle

ICONIC Board takes a holistic approach to eligibility (pun intended). Rather than requiring a specific training program or association membership, it evaluates the totality of your professional record — your education, your practice hours, your ethical conduct, and your commitment to professional standards. Practitioners from diverse backgrounds and training pathways are welcome.

Eligibility by Credential Tier

Requirements vary by the tier you're applying for:

IBC-HHA™ (Associate) — You've completed a recognized holistic health training program and are building supervised practice hours. You don't need years of independent practice; this tier is designed for practitioners who are in the earlier stages of their professional development.
IBC-HHP™ (Professional) — You're an established practitioner with documented client contact hours in active practice. You have a recognized training background and can demonstrate ongoing professional activity.
IBC-HHE™ (Expert/Educator) — You're a senior practitioner with significant practice history, advanced training, and demonstrated mentorship, teaching, or leadership in the holistic health field.
IBC-HHD™ (Doctorate) — You hold a doctoral degree in a health-related field and have made substantive contributions to holistic health through research, education, or published work.

You Don't Need to Graduate From an Accredited School

ICONIC Board credentials are open to all qualified practitioners regardless of where they trained. Graduates of ICONIC-accredited schools benefit from a streamlined application process through their school's Accredited Program Code — but non-graduates from accredited schools follow the standard application process and are evaluated on the same criteria.

You Can Apply at Any Tier You Qualify For

There's no requirement to start at the lowest tier and work your way up. If you have 10 years of practice and meet the requirements for IBC-HHE™, you can apply directly at that level. Tiers are assessed independently based on your current qualifications.

Who Cannot Apply

Applicants with a history of sustained ethics violations, fraudulent credential claims, or conduct that violates the ICONIC Board Code of Professional Conduct are not eligible for credentialing. Additionally, credentials will not be issued for modalities that are illegal in the applicant's jurisdiction.
